I discovered at the weekend that I have been nominated for Best Craft Blog in the Blog Awards Ireland. I'm really shocked and delighted; shocked because of my technical difficulties this month which I had assumed ruined any chances of progressing any further. The nomination really means a lot to me as I've put a lot of extra work into my blog this year; trying to post more regularly, do more tutorials, and drastically improve the design. So it's really nice to be recognised for all the extra hard work.
I've made it to the final five nominees in my catagory, going along side some fantastic other blogs(go check them out you are sure to love them); La Creature and You, Mollymoo, Stitchlily, and This is Knit(jeepers creepers that's some hefty competition-gulp!).
I'd also like to thank Belleek for being the sponsors of my category, it was always the byword for quality and something precious in my house. My mother has one small vase that she treasured that we were not allowed to touch as children. I can still remember hearing her yelp 'Be careful, that's my Balleek!' while I was doing the dusting.
I'm not sure if I can make it up to the ceremony itself, I'd really like to go. It would mean taking the Sunday off work, and hopping on a bus straight after work on Saturday to make it on time. If I can arrange lifts from my brother and his wife who live near Naas I'll probably go(even though I won't know anyone else there!).
I'd just like to say thanks to all my readers for sticking with me over these past 5 years. Only when my blog died last month did I really understand how much this outlet means to me, both personally and for my business.
