Cupcakes

I actually made these pincushions nearly two months ago and took the photos. I've no idea why it took me long long to list them in my etsy shop, I just got around to doing it this week.

I also should be getting lots of new supplies over the next week or so. I will be getting another large consignment of vintage supplies. Including mixed bags of vintage buttons, and an esoteric selection of knitting needles. I'm excited to see them and start listing my new range. I'm not really that clued into the whole knitting scene so I'll have to do a bit of research. Also included in this will be in avintage mannequin, I hear it's in pretty rough shape so I might spray paint or decopage it, and have it has a decoration in my living room.

Ode to St.Patrick

It's official I've been a very bold blogger over the past week or so, especially after my prolific start to the year. I do have a good excuse I've been a busy lady.
As usual I've been pumping lots of energy into my supplies shop, and I'm quite chuffed with how sales have been tipping away lately. So all the good work is paying off, for once :) . I've also been doing lots of sewing, developments are afoot with the shop that sells my work in Kilkenny....more exciting news of that next week I promise.
I've also been trying to get together some St.Patricks Day themed items for the upcoming celebrations. Etsy have made some noises about focusing their attention on this green holiday and I thought I'd hop on that bandwagon and see where it led me. During the week I made these quite sweet patriotic pincushions. I'm happy with how they turned out, they have the tricolour but they don't look like mantle piece decoration from the house of Darby O Gill.
Add on top of that Valentines Day, and myself Johns 3 year anniversary, all in all it's been a pretty hectic week!! Phew, I even feel tired typing all that.

Treats of the Forrest

Eek I'm so excited by these!! I wanted to make a could of different pincushions, so firstly I made the tree, and then the mushroom followed. I tried taking photos on a white background, but then I came up with this cute little set up. It reminds me of a kids programme set, I love these pics!! ....can you see I'm abandoning all pretense of modesty? :)

Pin Cushions

In one of my last posts you saw a sneeky peek at one of my new pin cushions. I've made a few more, and just took some quick snapshots of them so you can have a wee look. I love making them, as it's mostly hand stitched. There is something really relaxing about going through that slow process and watching something form in your hands. It also means I can listen to my audiobooks without the buzz of a sewing machine (at the moment I'm listening to Robert Jordans The Wheel of Time series).

I also made new small pin cushions that you can wear on your wrist, these are really handy when your on your hands and knees on the floor doing alterations. The cushion is detachable from the wrist band. One is a cake and the other an iced biscuit. John suggested I make one with a watch face.
