Printed Bags

Our house has turned into a print sweat shop this week as we were printing up paper bags for Roisins Boutique in Inistioge. I got the custom made stamp from jlmould on Etsy for only $40, which is a total bargain considering how much money it has saved for making bags. I had initially researched getting bags printed and the cost was astronomical, so this seemed like a really good alternative. But be warned it's pretty labour intensive if you decide to do it yourself. On Friday night when I was printing them by myself it took about an hour and a half to do 50. I then remembered what we used to do it college, to get a second person to remove the printed bag, place it somewhere safe to dry and replace with a fresh bag. This meant I was free to re-ink the roller and stamp. John thought this was a stupid idea when we started but it really saved time as we got 150 in just over an hour.Go Team!
We have another 200 left to do but we'll get it done in no time if we do it together. I'll also be printing my own bags later in the week, I think they'll look really cute at the market.

Ps: as you can see my computer is fixed, but UPC is still acting up so I may be sporadic in my post for the next while.

The Urge to Shop

Yes yes I know i shouldn't be buying more supplies when I'm trying to cut down on the amount of stuff I have in the studio, but I just couldn't help myself. I'm like on of those designer shoe junkies, I walk into a supplies store and I want/need to have everything! I restrained myself and only bought one pack of paper, one which I bought before and I've pretty much run out of. I also got these buy 2 get 1 free canvases, for when I get the urge to do some more painting.

Lastly I bought these address labels for my return address stamp, I've tried stamping it on my padded envelopes and it doesn't really work. I should have measured the stamp as the stickers are too small to fit the button picture, but at least the address fits. As with all my other stamps I got it from Jlmould, I had gotten so sick of writing my return address on things I bought this stamp while I was ordering the large ones for my paper bags.

Printed Shopping Bags for Nice Day Designs

My stamp eventually arrived from the states!! I ordered these bags stamps from JlMould to use for the things I sell at the market and also Roisin from the boutique I sell my work in Inistioge wanted one for her shop too. These were just a quick proof, I 'm looking into getting white bags instead of the brown, although the brown looks nicer than I expected. I also want to play around with different colour inks, so I might be asking your advice later in the week.

I've a busy week ahead of me, I'm working a split shift in the restaurant today, tomorrow/thurs I've to head out to Ennis to my VERY pregnant sister, to be nice to her before she becomes a mammy, then Friday I've a wedding to go to in Laois, and finally market day on Sunday! Yikes, I kinda wanna curl up on the sofa and watch and dvd and catch up on some sleep! Well only half of me wants to do that, I know I'll have a great time at the wedding, and I really want to see Karen before the all the baby madness ensues.
